Making Europe a Reality.
A few final-year vocational baccalaureate students saw their dream come true : doing a work placement abroad.
Fourteen cooks and fourteen waiters flew out to Ireland, Sweden, and Norway to reach their companies.
This incredible opportunity allowed them to discover different professional environments, experience new lifestyles, and taste northern culinary specialities.
They also tried new activities such as fishing, mushroom picking, gazing at the northern lights, golfing, iron path (via ferrata), and swimming in cold waters.

This six-week work placement enabled them to befriend people from various European backgrounds and develop trans-European networks.
Encouraging Signs.
Last spring, to renew our pool of partners, we contacted three new hotels, two in Sweden and one in Ireland. After working with our students, all three wished to continue our relationship.
For years, La Rochelle Hotel and Catering School has been helping Norwegian apprentices from Vestland find work placement in our beautiful city. This autumn, during the assessment visits in Norway, a post BTEC school approached our teachers to start a new partnership as soon as 2026.
Passing on the European Flame.

On October 18th, students who had taken part in mobility programs over the past two years shared their European experiences with the newcomers during the Erasmus Day event organised on the premises.
This annual gathering is key to spark European ambition among future generations.
At the same time, the second-year students in the vocational baccalaureate European section were preparing a European menu, where each dish celebrated one of our partners’ countries.
