Celebrating people we admire
PLOT : 23 years ago a traumatic event happened in the USA. Since then, Americans have celebrated Patriot Day to remember victims and heroes. For this occasion learn and react about 9/11.
In this cultural chapter, students will learn
* about an American event that marked History ;
* discuss about the notion of "hero" and finally give a definition ;
* write about a national hero on 3 time-writing activity.
They will be marked on their capacity to describe a person whom they consider as a hero and express gratitude towards this person. They will be invited to record their letter.
For the most courageous ones, their recording could be published on the vocational school website and even broadcast on a radio frequency.
There are some differenciated activities, directives and types of documents, related to the students’ abilities, availabity and presence in class.
This work intends to prepare students to the requirements of next year exam.
