On October 4, 2024, the Poitiers Academy warmly welcomed eighty students from twenty-six different countries, representing six languages taught in our region.

The day was a resounding success, filled with enthusiasm and a spirit of camaraderie among the participants.

The morning session focused on guiding the students through the necessary administrative procedures to ensure they are in compliance with French regulations. Experts from the rector’s office provided clear explanations on essential steps, including visa requirements, health insurance, and local registrations.
This information was crucial for the assistants to navigate the French administrative system successfully.

In the afternoon, the group participated in a treasure hunt to explore the wonders of Poitiers, including its stunning architecture and Romanesque churches. This engaging activity allowed the students to immerse themselves in the local culture and history while forming bonds with their peers.

At the end of the day, each participant received a tote bag filled with goodies as a token of appreciation for their enthusiasm and participation.
We are excited to announce that we will reconvene for a second day in Niort in November, where we will focus on the pedagogical aspects of their experience in France.
Overall, the welcome day was a positive and enriching experience, setting the stage for a successful academic year ahead. We look forward to the contributions these assistants will make to our educational community.
