Design of the eco-trail :
The creation of the green spaces and the installation of the trail were carried out by Michaël Lajoux, the school’s gardener.
The design of the puzzles and the 12 panels along the trail were created by Marilyne Tual, a biotechnology teacher, and Carine Gendre, the youth coordinator.
The signs were translated into English by 1BTS students with their English teacher Anthony Mafféi, and their audio descriptions were created by student volunteers working on the project.
How the eco-trail works :
Visitors can choose one of the four trails if there are only a few of them, or split into four
groups if there are many. The trails are self-guided ; participants will start under
the gazebo and will be provided with a backpack containing the necessary materials to solve the
puzzles, as well as a tablet with an interactive trail guide. Each route consists of three
puzzles, and at the end of the route, participants must successfully open a combination lock to
receive a school keychain, crafted by the locksmithing/metalworking and boat maintenance program.
Examples of trails (images) are attached.
