Erasmus mobility in Vienna in support of a good cause publié le 07/01/2026
As part of the Erasmus+ programme, four students from classes 1MCVA and 1MCVB at Lycée de l’Atlantique in Royan took part in a three-week mobility period in Vienna, Austria, where they completed their work placement last December.
This experience enabled them to develop both their vocational skills and their personal autonomy in an international environment.
During their stay, the students were supervised by an Austrian teacher of economics and management, who encouraged them to take part in a charitable project.
They worked in Christmas market chalets, where they sold Glühwein (hot mulled wine) to visitors. The profits from these sales were donated to the association Punsch4Uganda, which finances an orphanage in Uganda, giving a strong humanitarian and social aspect to their activities.
In addition to their professional duties, the students attended classes in the morning at the host school. This gave them the opportunity to meet Austrian students of the same age and in the same vocational sector, to exchange ideas, and to compare education systems and professional practices.
The mobility also enabled the students to discover Vienna, its historical landmarks, its Christmas traditions and its cultural differences. They became more aware of cultural diversity and improved their communication skills in a foreign language.
Finally, this Erasmus experience represents a real asset for the students, as it allows them to take the mobility assessment, which gives them additional points for the French Baccalauréat.
Overall, this project was a rewarding and enriching experience, both professionally and personally.
